Saria
Idana, originally from New York , is a theater, music and literary artist committed to a world in which freedom of expression facilitates action, connection and intimacy. Her work focuses on personal and global struggle in conjuntion with human resilency. She has worked with theater and dance companies in New York and Los Angeles including, La Mama
ETC, Contra-Tiempo, Great
Leap, The
Moving Torah Company and The Vanaver
Caravan.
Her poetry has been featured in print and audio compilations and her spoken word album about urban Jewish-American identity and the Israeli-Palestinian conflict will be released in 2012.
Saria is a passionate Arts Educator teaching in after-school programs, colleges and detention centers. She has facilitated classes in poetry, dance, theater and music. She designed and taught a class Poetry to Performance, Art Share Los Angeles and is currently teaching spoken word through Perofrming Arts Workshop.
