.......there was a sobbing nocking at my door.... i opened the window to let the rain in and a thousand screams floaded my mouth.... tap dancing on a clock with 13 hours i moaned durges and sang hymns and the moon wept stars down to blanket her cold children.......

Saria Idana addresses personal and global struggle in her poetry. Topics include collonization, love, Los Angeles, empire, the Israeli/Palestinian conflict, the war on Terror and her struggle with identity as a Jewish/Sufi woman in a globalizing world. She has performed at poetry venues around NY, MA, NC and Los Angeles and will feature at the World Stage in Leimert Park on September 10th and at the Cobalt in the SF Valley later that month.

She has printed three chapbooks,

Love in Silverlake

Giving Voice to Terror

Patchwork of Places and Conflicted Land

and hopes to find a publisher for her full manuscript in 2009. All chapbooks are $5
